The Rocket's Red Glare A five-segment solid rocket, based on the Space Shuttle boosters and using casings flown on several missions, undergoing a static ground test at ATK's manufacturing facility in Promontory, Utah. The test motor was 154 feet long and generated 3.6 million pounds of thrust.
