Go Back

Catenae on Steins Rosetta visited asteroid 2867 Steins on September 5, 2008. Its images showed Steins to have the shape of a brilliant-cut diamond. Its south pole has been blasted away by an impact making a crater 2.1 kilometers in diameter. Radial to the crater is a chain or "catena" of seven craters and a noticeable groove on the opposite side of Steins.
