Saturn's northern hemisphere from Voyager
A mosaic of 8 green filtered Voyager 2 narrow angle images obtained on August 21, 1981 when Voyager 2 was 4.9 million km from Saturn. The mosaic has been colorized from a lower resolutiom orange/green/blue color composite obtained at roughly the same time. The color should be fairly close to Saturn‘s true color.

The mosaic has been colorized from a lower resolution orange/green/blue color composite obtained at roughly the same time. The color should be fairly close to Saturn‘s true color. In this version the image has been sharpened to better reveal various small-scale details.
