Shaler outcrop, Curiosity sol 316 Shaler is an outcrop of cross-bedded, light-toned, well-sorted sands, located above the Yellowknife Bay area. It likely represents a fluvial (river) environment, with minor reworking of the sediments by wind when it dried out.
