Gale crater

A mosaic of Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter Context Camera images covering all of Gale crater. The whole crater is about 150 kilometers in diameter.

Curiosity will be aiming for a spot inside Gale near the northern rim and will drive toward the five-kilometer-high mound of layered deposits in its center.
Two higher-resolution versions of this product are available:
- Whole crater at 55 meters per pixel (13 MB)
- Northwest area of the crater (including the area Curiosity is likely to explore) at 10 meters per pixel (3.5 MB)
