Focus...zap! Focus...zap! Focus...zap! ChemCam lost the ability to use its focusing laser after sol 801. During the rover's second tour of Pahrump Hills, the ChemCam team experimented with different methods to find the best focus distance for the plasma-generating laser. This animation documents three ChemCam spots on a target at the Chinle outcrop on sol 833.
