The Planetary Society takes online privacy and security concerns seriously. Below, you will find information about our online privacy policy, including how and when we collect information through our webite, and how this information will be used. Personal information collected for contests and online newsletters, including email addresses, will not be released to any third parties.

Contests

The Planetary Society collects the following personal information for contests:

Email addresses will only be used once, to notify you of the contest winner. Personal information collected for the purpose of contests is saved only during the contest period and will not be released to any third parties.

E-mail List Server

The Planetary Society offers an e-mail list service to its members and others. This list will not be shared with any other organizations. If you do not want to receive e-mail from us in the future, please let us know.

Postal Mailing List

If you supply us with your postal address online, you may receive periodic mailings from us with information on new products and services or upcoming events. If you do not wish to receive such mailings, please let us know by sending e-mail to members@planetary.org. From time to time, we make the addresses of our members available to other reputable organizations whose products or services we think you might find interesting.

If you do not want us to share your address with other companies or organizations, please let us know by sending e-mail to us at the above address and telling us that you do not want us to share your address with other companies. Please provide us with your exact name and address. We will be sure your name is removed from the list we share with other organizations.

Telephone Lists

Persons who supply us with their telephone numbers online may receive telephone contact from us with information regarding orders they have placed online. They also may receive telephone contact from us with information regarding new products and services or upcoming events. If you do not wish to receive such telephone calls, please let us know by sending email to us at the above address.

You also may receive telephone contact from other reputable companies. You can, however, have your name put on our do-not-share list by sending email to us at the above address. Please provide us with your correct phone number. We will be sure your name is removed from the list we share with other organizations.

Web Server

Our web server automatically recognizes the consumer's domain name (where possible).

We collect the domain name, but not the email address of visitors to our web page, aggregate information on what pages consumers access or visit and information volunteered by the consumer, such as survey information and/or site registrations.

The information we collect is used for internal review and is then discarded or used to improve the content of our web page, but not shared with other organizations for commercial purposes.
