I first "learned" of what would become the Society's mission while watching Carl Sagan with my Dad a very long time ago. Now, in a troubling time for our county and our world, it makes me hopeful and glad to know that all of the research mentioned in the video is going forward supported in part by by members' interest, actions, and enthusaism.

That was a nice way to share the results of the generosity of all members sharing with members, as we know, all those participants are also members. I am but a small contributing member who has followed The Planetary Society (hanging on the edges of their space) longer than I have been a member but its so refreshing to see gratitude expressed sincerely! Keep going all! Maybe some day, we really will see the purpose for all those celestial bodies out there!

Joined these pass couple weeks and already renewed my membership three times. Haven't regretted it. Space, am I right? Who can argue with that. Also Mr. Nye, it all started when I first saw your show back in 1996 when I was child. So thank you and the Planetary Society for pushing the envelope. Plus Ultra "further beyond"

R. Mallory: 12/20/2012 07:00 CST

It is us who thank you. Somehow I received a "free copy" of the Planetary Report in 1986 when I was seeing a therapist due to a breakup of a marriage. I never knew who sent me a copy, but my therapist (who was in WV ) mentioned , by chance, someone from JPL (who remained unnamed of course) was also a client of his. Hmm! I wonder. Proud member since 1986

Carl Rutter: 12/20/2012 10:04 CST

Roy Wright: 12/31/2012 05:04 CST

Thanks for sharing acquired knowledge with the science communities of the world. It's the art of science projects within the minds of our species that becomes a reality for sharing the wave of the cosmos. Dr. Sagan was one such sharing actors as is and as are the Planetary Society subscribers and contributors.

Zem: 12/31/2012 10:33 CST

Thank you guys! Carl Sagan sure would have been proud of you!
