The lights of Cape Town as seen from Juno Junocam took this image during its passage over the Earth's night side, and caught the lights of Cape Town, South Africa. The bright band across the image is the limb of the earth, with the Sun illuminating the highest reaches of the atmosphere.

The image was acquired on October 9, 2013 at 19:19:30 UT, just a few minutes before Juno's closest approach, at an altitude of 677 km.  The effective exposure time of this image was about 0.2 seconds.
