George G. Gatewood is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Pittsburgh. His research focuses on astronomy, astronomical instrumentation, statistical methods, stellar astrophysics, and the observational discovery and study of planetary systems. He is also the former director of the Allegheny Observatory.
