Carolyn Shoemaker

Carolyn Shoemaker has discovered more comets--32 in all--than any other living astronomer.  She has also discovered more than 800 asteroids.  She was introduced to astronomy by her late husband, the pioneering planetary scientist Gene Shoemaker.
