Artist's impression of Venera 13
Venera 13 landed on Venus on 1 March 1982 and returned the first color images from the surface of Venus. In this artist's concept, the Venera 13 images provide the texture of the basalt-covered ground, leading to the shadow of a smoky volcano. The spacecraft is a rendering of a 3D model.
