Visualization of a Solar Eclipse
This visualization shows a solar eclipse. Only viewers in the darkest part of the Moon's shadow, called the umbra, would see a total or annular eclipse. Viewers in the lighter part of the shadow, called the penumbra, would see a partial eclipse.
