Notional traverses for the Mars 2020 rover

Notional traverses for the Mars 2020 rover
Notional traverses for the Mars 2020 rover The Mars 2020 rover will land in Jezero crater on February 18, 2021. This map, made in 2018, shows some "notional" drive paths for the Mars 2020 rover, depending on whether it lands in the eastern side of the ellipse (green dot) or western side (red dot). The actual traverse path will differ from these, perhaps significantly, but the exercise of drawing the paths helped the science team understand what a successful primary mission for the rover might look like.
