Airdate: Sunday, December 17, 2006 As a staff scientist for Malin Space Science Systems, Ken Edgett has viewed everyone of the more than 240,000 images returned by the Mars Global Surveyor. He was first to notice a black spot that wasn't there earlier. It was the first of 20 newly-formed impact craters. Ken also talks about the similar discovery of new white deposits suggesting water has flowed down gullies in the last few years.
