Project Updates
13 December 2004: EarthDial Newsletter No. 12
Since the last Newsletter in September, we have a beautiful new ED-22 from Brazil
-- check it out. At a latitude of 20 deg S, this (at last) is our first ED
in the Southern Hemisphere (or, to be more exact, the "normal" part
of the S.H., since the South pole ED certainly qualified during its short lifetime!).
3 other EDs are looking very close - France, Australia and South Africa. We're
excited about these almost-there cases, because they will mean that we've had
an ED on every continent! Keep working on them, guys. More »

26 April 2004: EarthDial Newsletter No. 9
The project has added four new dials since the last Newsletter. After the frantic
work of starting up, we are now entering into more of a steady phase. Meanwhile,
on Mars, the Rovers of course are doing fantastically well and their missions
have now been officially extended until next September, and perhaps even longer
if all goes well. By now, there have been thousands of images that include
the MarsDials. More »

Note that the March Equinox (Spring in the Northern Hemisphere, Autumn in the
South) occurs at 0649 GMT this Sat., 20 March. The shadow of the gnomon will
be a straight west-to-east line (no matter where you are located (except the
Pole)!) More »

Note that it's a full moon this weekend - to be exact, 2314 GMT on Sat. 6
March. I'd love it if you could capture images of the *Moon's* shadow through
the night - can your Webcam make it out?
