Piercing Titan's veil
Filed under pretty pictures, Cassini, Titan, amateur image processing, Saturn's moons
Amateur image processor Judy Schmidt created this view of Titan using Cassini wideband RGB filter images combined with a sharpened infrared luminosity overlay to bring out the surface details that are normally completely enshrouded by Titan's atmosphere. The data used were acquired by Cassini on February 19, 2013.
