Catching Atlas

Go Back

Catching Atlas Atlas almost didn't make it into the frame in this Cassini photo from December 6, 2015. Orbiting just outside Saturn's main ring system, Atlas appears to have accumulated ring material into a saucer shape, obscuring any impact craters that may have happened to it in the past.
