Go Back

Gibbous Saturn and Rings Saturn and its Rings imaged by Cassini as it approached Saturn, three months before orbit insertion.

Blue, green and IR-filtered images were converted to GIFs in NASAView. I used Photoshop to create an RGB image from the GIFs, and made adjustments to each color channel using Levels and Channel Mixer. I emphasized the red channel slightly to bring out more details on Saturn's disk.

Original images were N1458658217_1, N1458658292_1, and N1458658407_1.

Original image data dated on or about March 22, 2004.
