The edge of Mars: THEMIS scan across the Martian limb Mars Odyssey took advantage of the unusual spacecraft orientation required for it to serve as a communications relay during the Phoenix landing to take this THEMIS image scanning across the edge of Mars' disk, into its atmosphere, and up into space.
