Into the Valleys: Curiosity NavCam panorama of Amargosa and Owens Valleys, sol 740 (September 5, 2014)
Filed under pretty pictures, amateur image processing, Mars, Curiosity (Mars Science Laboratory)
On sol 740, Curiosity picked her way carefully down a ramp into a series of valleys that contain some of the oldest rocks she had yet encountered. The patch of light-toned rocks in the middle distance, about 1/3 of the way from the left edge of the image, is an outcrop named Pahrump Hills.
