Eridania lake, Mars (artist's impression)
Eridania Lake is a hypothesized ancient body of water on Mars, the source of Ma'adim vallis. Water that flowed through Ma'adim once emptied into Gusev crater on its way to the northern lowlands. This artwork uses topography data from Mars Orbiter Laser Altimeter and synthetic clouds to imagine a Mars with enough water to fill Eridania.
