Jupiter's northern hemisphere from Voyager 1

Jupiter's northern hemisphere from Voyager 1
Jupiter's northern hemisphere from Voyager 1 Voyager 1 mosaic of Jupiter's northern hemisphere, taken on March 1, 1979 from a distance of 5.31 million km. The north equatorial belt is at lower right. The mosaic is centered at ~290° longitude. NASA / JPL-Caltech / Justin Cowart

Because this mosaic took ~20 minutes to acquire, Jupiter rotated approximately 10 degrees during the acquisition period. The result is that the bottom right frame in this mosaic appears to extend out past where the limb would be if you extended it across the upper row of frames.
