Artist Concept of Pluto, Charon, Nix, Vulcan and Cerberus from Hydras POV
Photoshop cs6 extended/ Sculptris Philip A Cruden
I had painted an image of what I thought Pluto may look like 2 years ago. In 2011 and 2012 two new moons were discovered. I decided to update the painting with my new tools using Sculptris for modeling and CS6 for texture and color layering. All in all there are 62 layers that make up the final painting.
I think it is amazing that these two new bodies have been found, discoveries in the Cosmos are endless even in our own solar system. New Horizons left for Pluto in 2006. At the time, mission planners did not account for the two new moons so I wish everyone the best of luck during the fly-by in 2015 with no mission disruptions.
