New Horizons: The First Mission to the Pluto System and the Kuiper Belt

After sailing across the solar system for over nine years, on July 14th NASA’s New Horizons will finally have its close encounter with Pluto. Even though images won’t be available for a few days after the flyby, fans around the world will gather to hear news from the spacecraft as it approaches the dwarf planet and its companions. Join us as The Planetary Society’s Mat Kaplan talks with New Horizons scientists and Pluto-watchers as we monitor the Applied Physics Lab’s live webcast, broadcast from Maryland.
