Events

The Planetary Society creates and participates in events to bring the excitement of space exploration to public audiences. From our world-wide Planetfests to lectures in small-town libraries to hanging a solar-sail blade in Rockefeller Center in New York, we are constantly finding new ways involve our members in the excitement of space exploration.

Astronomy Day Event

Event to celebrate " Global Astronomy Day". Event will include a TPS Table, Astronomy Lecture, PBS-POV DVD showing Bill Nye video, and night time telescope viewing (weather permitting), located at the Shake-A-Leg Miami area in Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami Florida on the Biscayne Bay waterfront.

Griffith Observatory Star Party

Planetary Society Volunteers will set up a display table, hand out free science materials and bring telescopes for the public to use and enjoy celestial views of the universe like our Sun, Moon, Planets, bright stars, comets, planetary nebulas and globular clusters.

Monthly Volunteer Meeting
