Curiosity took the photos for this mosaic on an outcrop named Mount Shields on sol 971 (April 30, 2015), after a short "bump" designed to put the outcrop within reach of the tools on the robotic arm. The outcrop is located in an area called "Logan's Run," to the north of Logan Pass and to the west of Pahrump Hills.
This is the last NavCam view of the comet taken before Rosetta left the "bound orbit" phase of the mission. The view is across the large end of the comet toward the underside of the smaller end. The cliffs of Hathor are in shadow, but receive light reflected from the surface of the comet and also from the particles in jets and coma.
