Apparent trajectory of Alpha Centauri B around Alpha Centauri A
Filed under Planetary Society Projects, FINDS Exo-Earths, explaining science, stars and galaxies
The apparent trajectory of star B around star A is indicated by the elongated ellipse, with labels for the years 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2015. The axes show the separation of the stars in units of arc seconds. The less elongated orbit shows the binary star system as seen "face-on."
