My Story
Michael Gardner
January 15, 2013
Like many others, my curiosity about nature, and astronomy specifically, came about from encouragement from a teacher. When my fifth grade teacher told us to come to the front table of our class room, one row of students at a time, and select a book to read when we had spare time, I happened to select a book on astronomy. I had picked the book up but replace it. My good friend Aurelio Garcia, reached out for it. Quickly thinking that this must be a good book, I grabbed it back. The book, as you probably guessed, was on astronomy. This was in 1949, and I have been pursuing the universe ever sense. Thanks so much Aurelio!
