My vision for continued space exploration

I think the future of space exploration for the next 25 years should be to continue solar system exploration of planets, moons of planets, comets and asteroids, by unmanned probes, as well as to continue developing deep space investigating tools, such as the Webb Space telescope. Manned space travel is too expensive for the available funding now available, or likely to be available in the near future.

I liked your answer best, Dennis. It fits my thoughts. I would like to add: I think the next major Mars robot should be a sample return, but not by just scooping surface material. It would have to be a drill rig to get down away from the surface radiation and maybe into some subsurface water, where there is a chance for life to reside. I also am excited by the fast-paced discovery of planets around other stars. I hope Seth Shostak is right in his proclamation, in that we discover life on some other planet within the next 20 years. The James Webb telescope may be the vehicle to prove this out.
