The costs involved in space travel mean that the returns from harvesting space will be what drives everything and that is still some way off with private companies the only ones to do it. However once this is seen as a good profitable way to go the horizons will open up and with the vast amount of knowledge gained we will only then expand the human side of space exploration, remember robots first.
