As a 12 year old, I was interested in the stories about Tarzan. Unknowingly, I picked up a book about John Carter, Edgar Rice Burroughs famous scifi character on Mars. I got hooked! This led to other scifi stories by many authors and ultimately led me to my interest in space and related science and engineering.
