To go where no one has been
December 10, 2013
As a child in war-torn Philippines, where no electricity meant black skies and uncountable stars, I would lie on my back and watch them winking at me, wondering where they all came from, and what else is out there? The Planetary Society joins me, now almost 80 years old, with those who still watch the stars. But now I also have articles that are not totally dumbed-down, and let me be a part of learning and searching for what else is out there.
An asteroid or comet headed for Earth is the only large-scale natural disaster we can prevent. Working together to fund our Shoemaker NEO Grants for astronomers, we can help save the world.
