I would like to see the future of the space program follow along the lines of what we think we cannot do. Born in the early 1950's, I also watched STRA TREK and LOST IN SPACE and FORBIDDEN PLANET and other video entertainment...yearning for it to become reality. Steve Jobs always said if it cannot be done, then he was challenged to do it. The same with Carl Sagan and Werner VonBraun. So I ask, why can't we carry forth these legacies...and go where no man or robot has gone before?????
An asteroid or comet headed for Earth is the only large-scale natural disaster we can prevent. Working together to fund our Shoemaker NEO Grants for astronomers, we can help save the world.
