1950s Science Fiction

Frank Deitz

December 2, 2012

Space began in the early-mid 1950s with Asimov, Heinlein, Van Vogt, Clarke and so on. "Voyage of the Space Beagle", Foundation series, "Puppetmasters","Green Hills of Earth" gave me such a picture of the future when we would all be in space that I never let loose. I became an archaeologist after a few lost decades but I never lost the vision of space-SETI, Mars, Voyagers, NASA,ETs and what may we may yet become and where we may go. I wrote an obituary for an English class in 1984 where I died in 2034 during a cave-in on a planet of Barnard's star searching for the origins of humans. I still have hope.
