GRAIL launch scrubbed; try again tomorrow

Topics: events and announcements, GRAIL

GRAIL was all set to go for launch this morning but high upper-level winds forced a 24-hour delay. We'll try again tomorrow at 5:33 PDT / 12:33 UT or 6:12 PDT / 13:12 UT. Every day that the launch is delayed, the two launch windows move earlier in the day by about four minutes. As with today, I'll probably be watching the feed through Spaceflight Now's GRAIL mission status center. Another good place to watch will likely be JPL's Ustream channel. Here's the new launch timeline. These times are approximate, especially after the first firing of the second stage; the real times will likely be at least a few seconds different.

Separation should be visible from a RocketCam. After separation, the solar panels will be commanded to deploy.4918.809:55:2406:55:2413:55:24GRAIL-B separates5413.810:03:3907:03:3914:03:39EventsecEDTPDTUTC<
