The Target NEO 2 workshop is happening today in Washington, D.C. Scientists will be working through problems and try to answer the following questions:
What are the technical challenges involved and what new capabilities are needed for the newly proposed Asteroid Retrieval Mission (ARM)? Are there any alternative approaches? What technical information is still needed to support and sustain a robust human exploration program to a NEO?
The meeting is public, so you can follow along via webex and teleconference line. Detailed instructions are here.
Planetary Society President Dr. Jim Bell is in attendance today at the conference, and you can count on a lot of vigorous debate and discussion about this provocative mission.
