I'm happy to be representing the Planetary Society at the 2nd annual MarsFest, the 3-day long celebration of the red planet, located in the stunning Death Valley National Park in California, March 1st - 3rd, 2013.
Leading Mars scientists will be on hand to offer a series of talks and field trips out to the desert to explore the connection between Mars and the dry deserts of Earth. These are commonly referred to as Martian "analogues," and are really quite stunning. All of these events are free (with park admission).
The Planetary Society will have a booth at the event over the weekend, so feel free to stop by and talk to me about the Society, space exploration, planetary science, or Mars. I'll have free copies of the Planetary Report to hand out, as well as other goodies.
MarsFest is a result of hard work from our friends at the SETI Institute, NASA AMes, and the National Park Service.
The official schedule is here [pdf].
More information is available on the SETI Institute's MarsFest 2013 page.

Asteroid 2012DA14 was a close one.
It missed us. But there are more out there.
