Today at 8:56 a.m. EDT, Space Shuttle Endeavour launched on its final mission, and we are part of this historic moment!

The Planetary Society's Shuttle LIFE experiment will now begin to test the effects of spaceflight on our specially chosen microorganisms. It's a thrilling time for every member and supporter of the Planetary Society!

Space shuttle Endeavour roars into orbit from Kennedy Space Center's Launch Pad 39A as the vehicle embarks on its 25th and final spaceflight, the STS-134 mission. Liftoff was on May 16, 2011 at 12:56 UTC.
