Every year, teachers and educators gather by the thousands at the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) Conference. We at The Planetary Society will be there again this year to share our love of space science and exploration with the people who are shaping the future—people like you.

Historically, NASA missions set aside a portion of their budgets for education and public outreach, or EPO. However, the OSIRIS-REx EPO budget got deleted in 2013 as part of a broader federal policy change. Dante Lauretta decided to make a run at a private company to recover the lost OSIRIS-REx EPO program – and Xtronaut was born!
Aomawa Shields discusses a workshop she designed for underrepresented girls in grades 6-8 that will teach key concepts in astronomy, highlighting what is beyond what we can see with our eyes, using nontraditional methods.

The Planetary Society will be well-represented at next week's Division for Planetary Sciences meeting in Tucson, Ariz.
