Lack of orbit launch is untenable ...
Sorry, I can't get past the crippled version of the US space program now. Piggy backing off the Russians is NOT working for me. The PS should be ashamed. You won't ever get my donations.

Its about time we get off of the NASA as "jobs program", where we fund it just enough to assure a steady stream of profit for a handful of insider aerospace companies and their shareholders, with just enough left over for a few photo-op flights to appease the public.

Opening up the last frontier is long overdue and this is a major step in the right direction.

Good for you Mr. Obama.

I have a different veiw.
this is not a race anymore,that mentality has to change if were ever going to go to mars or an asteroid, we can lower the cost of each seat on the soyuz spacecraft till we build a spacecraft for deep space exploration, the Russians and chinese and india are our partners.

Privatizing space
It is a good idea to divorce the future of Space Exploration from government budget talks. However, I hope there are enough men of vision in the private sector to get around this not being initially profitable.
