The Planetary Society BlogBy Emily LakdawallaUstream Chat Wednesday, September 17 at 1900 UTC: Mars Science Laboratory landing site selectionSep. 15, 2008 | 10:21 PDT | 17:21 UTC
This week I am attending a large meeting of the Mars community, which is trying to reach consensus on the best landing site to send Mars Science Laboratory, scheduled for launch next October. So for this week's Ustream broadcast I'll tell you about what I've learned from the meeting. Come join me!
The embedded player above only shows my webcam; if you want to participate in the chat you have to go to my show on the Ustream website to do it. (Although it is technically possible for me to embed a chat window into this blog entry, I don't, because I don't want to encourage graffiti. During the actual webcast, I do have moderators to make sure people behave.) Sometimes the Ustream website is a bit buggy. Here's how to deal with a couple of known problems: If you can't seem to get connected to the chat, log out and log back in to the Ustream website. Sometimes chat doesn't work at all for IE users although it does for Firefox users. If the video isn't running, refresh your screen. And if you want to change how your name appears in the chat, type "/nick whatever" (where you replace "whatever" with what you want your name to be). I put up with the bugs because Ustream is free. |
