A drum roll for Hubble, please...
Oct. 27, 2006 | 12:04 PDT | 19:04 UTC
NASA has just announced that they are going to announce a decision on whether or not to service the Hubble Space Telescope this coming Tuesday, October 31. (Yes, it's Halloween; I don't know whether that bodes well or ill.) The announcement will be made at 10 am Eastern time (7 am Pacific, 1500 UT) during an agency-wide employee meeting and will be carried on NASA TV, as will a subsequent press conference. What was interesting about this press release is that IF they announce that they do plan to send a Shuttle to repair Hubble, THEN there will also be news conferences later in the day with the astronauts who might be performing the servicing mission.
Hubble lovers, keep your fingers crossed...
